Our students work both in small groups and in one-on-one settings. Each day begins with circle time for the entire class where we discuss the day’s date, weather, line leader, etc. All students participate in this interactive part of the day using our SMART Board! The students also work on mathematics, reading, spelling, speech, and IEP goals throughout the day. Students also enjoy participating in activities in the gym, sensory room, and library.

For reading, the students are all participants in the Project MORE reading program, a research based reading program through Bowling Green State University that promotes reading fluency. This program involves mentors who volunteer their time to reading with our students. We are very grateful to have these volunteers come in each day to read with our students!

Each student has an individual schedule that they follow throughout the day. Their day is integrated with a variety of activities that are done independently and with support from our classroom staff. Their daily performance (in the areas of participation, behavior, and academics) is charted on their daily communication log where they earn a “daily score.” This score can give parents a general idea of how their day went.
