The Ursa Minor classroom is a great place to be! Students follow a daily schedule of academic and sensory integrated activities. The Ursa Minor students really enjoy our Circle Time singing and Group Reading time in which we explore a variety of topics and current events. Our hands-on science and social studies activities are interactive and motivational for our students as well as our fun (and sometimes messy) art projects!
Students in the Ursa Minor classroom also enjoy the sensory room within our classroom. Throughout the day and when needed, students can engage in a multitude of sensory input activities including platform, sock, and bolster swings, a trampoline, a variety of sensory integrated exercises.
In the Ursa Minor classroom we focus not only on academics, but also on communication skills using a Verbal Behavior approach and sign language. Students also work on daily living and self-care skills. The students enjoy their day, and learn along the way!
