Each month we have a behavior chart that the students can work towards rewards. Each day the students start out with 10 pieces on their chart. If one of the classroom or individual rules are not followed they will loose a piece on their chart. At the end of the day if they have lost three or less they will get to move closer to the reward at the end of the month.

During reading the class is split into two groups. Each group reads a chapter book that is at their level. They then will answer questions to determine their understanding of what they read.  They read anywhere from one to two books in a month depending on the length. Our favorites so far have been Roald Dahl Books and the Magic Tree House series.

Math is always one of our favorite subjects!  Each students works on their individual IEP goals daily. Since math can be hard to get through sometimes we have made it a game. Each student will complete a math problem and if they get it correct they will have a chance to play a game. We have, math basketball, chicken toss, math darts and spin to win. They enjoy these games a lot.

Each day we have a different activity that the students complete using their spelling words. They will write their spelling words five times each, put their spelling words in sentences, race the teacher to see who can complete their word search fastest, and have a relay race to see who can spell the fastest.

We have been using Scholastic Weekly readers to complete different science and social studies activities.

Thank you to all of the parents for their continued support and the supplies that they send in.
